Majestic Princess is a new cruise ship that will be docked in Los Angeles for the first time. The company has created an innovative, immersive experience with technology and entertainment unlike any other cruise.
The Majestic Princess, a Princess Cruises ship, arrived in the Port of Los Angeles today and will begin a fall and winter season of trips to the Mexican Riviera.
The journey today is three nights long, including stops in San Diego and Ensenada.
Princess Cruises president Jan Swartz stated, “We’re delighted to welcome passengers onboard Majestic Princess today and celebrate the ship’s first trip from the West Coast.” “Since our cruise line’s inception in 1965, we’ve been sailing out of Los Angeles, and our passengers and crew are helping the City of Angels create significant income for local companies with our West Coast cruises homeporting from here year after year.”
Princess is the local cruise line of Los Angeles and the leading cruise line on the west coast, sailing through the area more often than any other. Princess Cruises contributed $594 million to the Los Angeles economy in 2019.
The line has had nearly 700 ship visits in Los Angeles over the last decade, the most of any line. Princess is well renowned for its participation in the TV show “The Love Boat,” in which it regularly traveled from the Port of Los Angeles to the Mexican Riviera with beloved cast members and notable guest stars.

“Our longtime relationship with Princess Cruises is directly linked to our reputation as a premier west coast cruise port,” stated Port Executive Director Gene Seroka. “Travelers on Majestic Princess and other Princess boats enjoy a convenient and premium holiday experience, which has helped the Port of Los Angeles develop into a year-round cruise port, and we are thrilled to be predicting a record 200 sailings in 2024.”
On the morning of Wednesday, October 6, 2024, Majestic Princess arrives in Los Angeles.
Majestic Princess recently finished a half summer season in Alaska and has 14 roundtrip sailings planned from Los Angeles until the end of 2024. Itineraries range in duration from three to ten days and include the Mexican Riviera, California Coast, and West Coast Getaways.
Passengers who are completely vaccinated and have evidence of a negative PCR or antigen COVID-19 test performed within two days of boarding are eligible for these sailings.
