The Carnival Corporation will restart seven more Carnival cruise ships in September and October, bringing the total number of ships it has taken off since July 2008 to 12. The company, which is the world’s largest cruise line, will restart its Carnival Triumph, Carnival Valor, Carnival Magic, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Ecstasy, and Carnival Conquest ships, as well as the Carnival Breeze, Carnival Sunshine, Carnival Dream, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Liberty, and Carnival Liberty Belle ships.

After the Carnival Triumph, which was damaged by Hurricane Irma, all the new Carnival Cruise ships have been put on hold. The 7 new ships that were due to start this September and October season were cancelled.

It’s safe to say that the cruise industry is still recovering from the impact of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in 2010. The spill was a major blow to the cruise industry, which was already facing stiff competition from airline and bus companies. These companies can easily accommodate passengers who want to travel from one destination to another, while cruises must ship their passengers all over the world and all at once. The industry has done its best to recover, but not all ships are back to the pre-spill levels of activity.. Read more about carnival cruise news and let us know what you think.

Carnival Cruise Line has announced intentions for cruise ships to resume service between September and November 2024. By the end of October, 15 boats, or half of the fleet, will be operational again. Three ships have already started sailings, and we already know which ships will begin sailings in July and August.

Carnival Cruise Lines to Restart Another Ship

Even more ships will resume service in September and October, according to the Miami-based cruise company. Carnival Glory from New Orleans will resume service on September 5, Carnival Pride from Baltimore on September 12, and Carnival Dream from Galveston will restart service on September 19, 2024.

Carnival Conquest out of Miami on October 8, Carnival Freedom out of Miami on October 9, Carnival Elation out of Port Canaveral on October 11, and Carnival Sensation out of Mobile, Alabama on October 21, 2024 are the four more ships that will begin sailings in October.

Carnival Cruise Line’s president, Christine Duffy, said:

“We are extremely pleased about our relaunch and thank our passengers’, travel agents’, and port and destination partners’ support.”

“By the end of July, we will have five ships in our restart plan, including the addition of Mardi Gras service, and we are witnessing a wonderful mix of high demand and excellent guest satisfaction ratings linked to the pleasant guest experience on board,” says the company.

Carnival Horizon, as well as Carnival Vista and Carnival Breeze, have already resumed service from PortMiami, Florida. When she sails out of Seattle on July 27, Carnival Miracle will be the fourth ship in the fleet to relaunch. On July 31, the new flagship, Mardi Gras, will begin sailings from Port Canaveral.

What Are the Protocols for Departures in September and October?

The cruise company will proceed with caution, as it did with the July and August sailings. All boats will continue to travel with fully vaccinated passengers until the end of October. Unvaccinated passengers, including children under the age of 12, will be permitted to board.

Duffy goes on to say:

“We realize that sailing with vaccinated trips is frustrating to some of our guests, particularly the numerous families with children under the age of 12 with whom we love to sail and with whom we love to sail with.”

“It’s essential to keep in mind that, given the present situation, this is just a temporary solution. We’ve decided that this strategy is in the best interests of our passengers, crew, and the locations to which we bring our ships after consulting with medical professionals and advisers. It’s critical that we retain our destination partners’ trust so that we can offer our passengers with the best cruise experience possible and sail our itineraries.”

Guests who have not been vaccinated will be subjected to stringent procedures to ensure that everyone on board is safe. Guests will be subjected to a variety of tests before embarking on the trip and after disembarking. There will be a $150 fee per individual for the testing, screening, and reporting requirements.

Guests who have reserved a spot on one of the forthcoming sailings will get messages prior to the trip with particular information and instructions on what they must do before boarding. The complete procedures are also available here.

Carnival Cruise Ships Will Be Placed on Hold

Now that Carnival Cruise Line has determined which ships will resume service in the coming months, other ships in the fleet will be placed on hold for even longer, with revised return dates set for those who will resume service. The following are the new dates for when the ships will be on hold:

  • From Baltimore, Carnival Pride runs through September 5th.
  • Galveston’s Carnival Dream runs through September 11th.
  • From Miami, Carnival Conquest runs through October 4th.
  • Mobile’s Carnival Sensation is running till October 16th.
  • Carnival Sunshine, Carnival Ecstasy, and Carnival Liberty cruises from Charleston, Jacksonville, and Port Canaveral will all be canceled until October 31.
  • A three-day trip aboard Carnival Miracle from Long Beach on September 24 has been canceled, and the ship will resume sailing from Long Beach on September 27.

It’s taken a long time to get cruise operations back up and running, but they’re now doing it safely and in accordance with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s standards (CDC).
