Carnival Cruise Line is concentrating not only on restarting cruise operations, but also on modernizing its ships, which now sport a new red, white, and blue livery. The Carnival Valor, which is now sailing back to North America, is the most recent ship in the fleet to get the new appearance.
After Dry Dock, Photos of the Carnival Valor
The dry docking of the Carnival Valor was completed at the shipyard in Marseilles, France. This is the fourth ship in the fleet to get the new livery design during a dry dock, which took place between July 7 and July 28. In recent months, the Carnival Magic, Carnival Glory, and Carnival Dream have all received new liveries.

The deep blue officer uniforms and the distinctive hues of the Carnival funnel influenced the new hull design. The new livery design is a welcome change after several cruise ships were rusted while on wait during the worldwide stoppage of operations.
Carnival Valor had some regular hotel maintenance and improvements done in addition to the new livery. New carpeting, fresh paint in certain sections, tile work, and other small upgrades are common.
The Carnival Valor has already completed her dry dock and is returning to North America. Thanks to photographer Tony Davis, Cruise Hive has some unique pictures of the ship. The pictures were shot on August 8, 2024, when the ship docked in Gibraltar. This is the first opportunity for the Carnival cruise ship to display the new livery in its entirety.
The ship may be seen on the northern arm of the main harbor area, near the Gibraltar Cruise Terminal. The terminal, which opened in 1997, is often utilized by cruise ships transiting from the Mediterranean to North America. The port’s strategic position on the southern point of the Iberian Peninsula, in the British Overseas Territory, is very convenient for ships going to Asia.
The former Carnival Fascination spent some time at Gibraltar in December 2024 before going to her new home in China for a refit under Century Cruises. Although work on altering the ship’s name had begun, Carnival Fascination did not seem to be in good shape after spending so much time at Cadiz, Spain.
Carnival Valor has already left Gibraltar and is now traveling across the Atlantic to the Bahamas, according to our Cruise Ship Tracker. On August 22, the ship is expected to dock in the Bahamas.
Although the ship will not be part of Carnival’s original relaunch plans for September or October, the cruise company has previously said that the fleet will resume operating by the end of 2024. Carnival Valor is now slated to resume service in November from New Orleans, Louisiana.
The first trip return will be a five-day Western Caribbean cruise with stops in Cozumel and Progreso. This will also be the first opportunity for visitors to see the renovated ship and its new livery.
Carnival Cruise Line hasn’t announced which ships will be sailing in November and December, so dates and itineraries may vary.
The latest dry dock for Carnival Valor was in 2016, and it included all of the FUN 2.0 improvements that aren’t popular throughout the fleet, such as Guy’s Burger Joint and the Alchemy Bar. The ship has a gross tonnage of 110,000 tons, a passenger capacity of 2,980 at double occupancy, and a crew of 1,180 foreign crew members.
