Despite the recent passing of Bill Gates, Microsoft has gone on to release a new line of Windows tablets. Called the Surface Go , the new tablets are sleeker and slimmer than the last iterations of the Surface line. They come in 10.6 inch and 12 inch versions, with the 10.6 inch version costing around $400 and the 12 inch version costing around $500.
The 2019 cruise season kicked off today as the first of the 50 major cruise lines sailed out of their home ports. Looking at the first couple of weeks of the season, the big three cruise lines all seem to be following similar patterns. Royal Caribbean kicked off the season with a fleet of seven ships, while Carnival got off to a slow start with only four ships. The other two lines, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Celebrity Cruises, kicked off the season with four and six ships, respectively.
It’s now the early 2024s, and we’re going to be doing our weekly cruise (weeklycruisenews.blogspot.com) again. This year we’re going to go to the Caribbean and head to a new port, St. Thomas. In cruise news this week, cruise lines continue to release new details about their resumption of operations outside the U.S., so we’ll be paying close attention to that and, of course, the latest news on Florida’s lawsuit against the CDC.Cruise News
Take a guess! It was another busy week for cruise news, but we have to focus on Florida’s lawsuit against the CDC to allow the state to resume cruises, as the state came out on top. So we look at all that, as well as Princess Cruises’ reopening from California and Florida, the delay of Royal Caribbean’s new ship, news from Cunard Line, and MSC Cruises’ return to the United States. We have a lot to learn, so let’s get started.
Florida wins case against CDC
Judge Merriday of Florida’s Middle District Court has finally issued a ruling in a lawsuit filed in April by the state of Florida. A judge has ruled against the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), allowing cruises to resume and reversing a conditional boating ban that had shut down the cruise industry for more than 15 months. An order against the conditional sailing ban, including all applicable technical instructions, is expected on the 18th. July 2024, 12:01 a.m. After this period, the conditional navigation decision becomes a mere consideration, recommendation or guideline for action. The implications for Florida are clear, and both the cruise industry and Judge Merriday agree that the CDC has gone too far. Although the CSO is no longer in effect in Florida, the cruise lines intend to continue their current plans. The first cruise from the United States is scheduled for late June, and others will follow throughout the summer.
Princess offers more cruises in the United States
Eight Princess cruise ships will sail between 25… September and the 28th. November 2024 to resume service from Los Angeles, San Francisco and Fort Lauderdale.
- The Majestic Princess and Grand Princess depart from Los Angeles and sail to a variety of destinations, including the California coast and Mexico for the seven-day cruises and Hawaii for the 15-day cruises. Cruises of three to five days are also offered along the coast of California and in Mexico.
- The Ruby Princess will depart from the Port of San Francisco for seven-day cruises along the California coast, followed by 15-day cruises to four different Hawaiian islands and 10-day cruises to Mexico.
- Enchanted Princess kicks off its inaugural season with two new cruises departing from Fort Lauderdale for 10-day cruises in the southern and eastern Caribbean.
- Sky Princess, Regal Princess and Caribbean Princess will depart from Fort Lauderdale. Guests can explore the Caribbean on three-, five-, seven- and 14-day cruises in the Eastern Caribbean, with visits to some of the world’s most famous beaches, and in the Western Caribbean, where guests can discover ancient Mayan ruins and the beauty of pristine coral reefs and underwater caves.
- Crown Princess sails through the Panama Canal from Fort Lauderdale on a series of 10-day cruises to this iconic wonder of the world.

All flights are open to passengers who have been fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to departure. Guests must present proof before boarding. Princess Cruises says the protocols will be adapted to local authorities in the ports. The cruise line also follows the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to ensure the safety of guests and crew. Princess adds its details on many aspects of the cruise, including dining, entertainment and shore excursions. This will be announced in the coming weeks.
Cunard Line resumes operations
Cunard Line announces new international routes following domestic services, starting in July 2024. The Queen Elizabeth will be back in service from 19. July 2024, operating intra-British flights from the port of Southampton. From the 13th. In October 2024, the ship will also begin operating longer international cruises to the Iberian coast and Canary Islands. The Queen Mary 2 begins her voyage on the 14th. Resumes in November 2024, beginning with a transatlantic crossing. She will sail in the Caribbean from January to April 2024. The 24th. The ship will then resume regular flight operations in April 2024. The Queen Victoria will be launched on the 22nd. April 2024 in Western Europe, the Baltic States and the Iberian coast. However, this means that the ship will remain on standby until that date and Cunard will cancel many scheduled flights. In addition, the ship will be launched on the 20th. MSC open bookings for ships from Florida
Reservations are available for two ships from Florida. MSC Meraviglia will be in service from the 2nd. August 2024 to set sail again, with three- and four-night itineraries including visits to the Bahamas and the private island of Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. From the age of 18. MSC Divina, which has been on hold for more than a year, will sail three-, four- and seven-day voyages to the Bahamas and Caribbean from Port Canaveral, Florida in September 2024. This will be MSC Cruises’ first cruise from its home port. Medical protocols are in place on the cruise line to ensure the protection of guests and crew. Both vessels will serve both vaccinated and unvaccinated clients. Guests who wish to go on a cruise and have not been fully vaccinated must purchase special travel insurance from MSC Cruises and will be subject to stricter protocols during the cruise. There is also a test for all guests when boarding the ship.
Odyssey of the Seas Departure delayed
Royal Caribbean has decided to announce the resumption of cruise operations for the new Odyssey of the Seas from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Michael Bailey, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean, has confirmed that the maiden voyage of the Odyssey of the Seas will take place on March 3. July from Fort Lauderdale now at 31. The July 2024 date has been postponed. A simulation trip scheduled for late June has also been postponed to a later date. Photo courtesy of: Royal Caribbean 
The reason for the delay is that eight crew members tested positive for COVID-19. Although the crew members who tested positive were given a second vaccination, they were still within the time frame in which the vaccine should be fully effective. Six crew members were asymptomatic and two had mild symptoms. Eight crew members are in quarantine and under the supervision of the ship’s medical staff. It also means that, as a precautionary measure, all other crew members on board will also be quarantined for 14 days to ensure that the virus does not spread further. There are currently 1,400 crew members aboard the Odyssey of the Seas, all of whom received their second vaccination since the 4th. June when the ship first arrived in the United States at Port Canaveral. A letter has already been sent to customers who had booked on the cancelled flights.
Start construction Icon of the Seas
Royal Caribbean reached a major milestone Wednesday by cutting the first steel for a new generation of Icon-class cruise ships. This is a significant milestone for the cruise line, as Icon of the Seas will be the first LNG-powered ship in the fleet and the first of three new Icon-class ships. It is too early to know all the details about the ship. Royal Caribbean will release more information in the coming months, including itineraries and onboard amenities. Icon of the Seas will debut in the fall of 2024. The ship will have a gross tonnage of approximately 200,000 tons, making it one of the largest ships in the world, after the Oasis class.

Are 2024 cruises being Cancelled?
Many people (including this author) have signed the dotted line for a cruise in 2024. The problem is that a few cruise lines have already announced massive cancellations for 2024. Those cancellations include the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas, Norwegian Escape, Celebrity Equinox, and Norwegian Sky. In anticipation of a downturn in the cruise industry, many cruise lines have already begun to cancel their cruises for 2024. The vessels that will be cancelled include the MSC Seaside, which will make its final voyage from Boston to California on Friday, July 4, 2024.
Is it safe to book a cruise for 2024?
The next year promises to be one to remember for cruises; we recently announced plans to introduce a new, world-class cruise ship to the fleet. We hope to begin construction on the ship by the end of 2019, and the new ship should be ready to join the fleet in 2024. Are cruise ships sailing in 2024?
In early 2024, there will be a new cruise ship out in the water. In fact, there will be two new ships in the ocean, with the first one opening its doors in 2024. The first ship is the second in a series of four 7-deck vessels that will take cruises to the future. These vessels are part of the Crystal Cruises fleet, and their itineraries will point to future times, places, and landscapes. The Crystal Cruises ships will go wherever the winds of change blow, and they are part of a growing fleet that will, in time, connect millions of people and billions of dollars across the world. The cruise industry is doing well, but the industry is still in its infancy. Cruise lines could make a lot more money if they could just get passengers to come on board and relax. But how can you sell people on spending a week at sea? The answer is that you can’t. One way to solve the problem is to design a cruise ship that offers just what passengers want: lots of comfort and entertainment, all in one ship.
