Carnival Cruise Line, currently the only company that allows passengers to skip the lines by booking in advance, will be suspending the services of two ships, the Carnival Vista and Carnival Triumph. The decision comes after the Carnival Triumph failed an inspection by the U.S. Coast Guard in April, and missed its June 1 deadline to resume operations.
Carnival Cruise Line (CCL) has announced that it will extend the suspension of its two Carnival Sunshine ships by one year. The two ships, as well as 3,200 crew members and passengers, will remain on their current itineraries until further notice. CCL said the move was made due to the company’s “ongoing concerns relating to the ships’ hull condition.” As a result of the extended suspension, passengers who have already booked a cruise on the Sunshine will not be charged. The move will also mean that CCL will not be able to honor existing cruise agreements with several customers.

Both ships are now parked in Dubai, where they will stay until Australia finds a way to revive its cruise sector. The ships had been banned until late November 2024, and the suspension has been extended every few months after then.
