Almost all of the United States’ major cruise lines have resumed operations since Hurricane Sandy wiped out a significant portion of their fleet, but it’s not easy to know which ships have been fully restored to service. Here’s a list of all the major cruise lines that have resumed operations:

The longest-lasting cruise ship in the Carnival fleet, the Carnival Inspiration, has resumed operations with a mid-April sailing from Miami, Florida. The Inspiration is one of five Carnival cruise ships that are on extended hiatus due to the same engine-related problems that have led to the suspension of all Carnival-owned ships. The five ships are the Carnival Inspiration, Carnival Destiny, Carnival Elation, Carnival Spirit, and The Legend, which is the Carnival vessel that sank off the coast of Costa Rica in 2012.

Now that Carnival Cruise Line has resumed operations after a 16-month hiatus, you can see which Carnival cruise ships are back in service here. Appropriate protocols shall be developed and the details may vary depending on the point of departure of the vessel concerned.

The cruise industry will soon be revived as more Carnival cruise ships resume operations before the end of 2023. We will keep you informed of the resumption of service and the return of ships from various U.S. ports.

So far, cruises have resumed on two ships: Carnival Vista from Galveston and Carnival Horizon from Miami. The Carnival Breeze will be the third ship to be launched on the 15th. Juli resumes his travels.

Carnival Horizon from Miami

The Carnival Horizon was the second ship in the fleet to resume cruise operations and the first to resume operations out of Port Miami, Fla. As with her sister ship, the fun returned with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended not only by the cruise line’s president, but also by brand ambassador John Heald.

Which Carnival Cruise Ships Have Resumed Operations?

Initially, Hild was denied a flight to the United States to join the ship, but luckily for the hundreds of people who had booked tickets to the Carnival Horizon because he was going to be on the ship, the issue was resolved.

The ship departed Port Miami on July 4 and was the first ship in the fleet to depart from the cruise capital of the world. Carnival Horizon’s first return voyage is a six-day Eastern Caribbean itinerary with visits to Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic and the private island of Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas.

The visit to Bimini was originally planned but was cancelled due to the curfew imposed on the island.
